KEEP is the native cryptocurrency of the Keep Network, an Ethereum staking protocol. KEEP achieves this through the utilisation of off-chain data storage vessels known as Keeps. Keeps can communicate with each other and smart contracts whilst keeping the data private and encrypted. tBTC, a Bitcoin bridge on Ethereum, is the first application built on top of the KEEP network. tBTC is a Bitcoin-backed ERC20 token pegged to the price of Bitcoin. The KEEP token is used for staking by users of the network who store and manage private data in exchange for service fees. The system is designed to incentivise honest behaviour through a slashing mechanism. Users who act dishonestly will have their part of their stake slashed.
