BAND is the cryptocurrency of the Band Protocol, a decentralised protocol that works to connect people to provide real-world data to decentralised applications (dApps). If a blockchain developer wants to allow their clients to place bets on the future price of any commodity, the developer must be able to determine the price at the specific time. The Band Protocol provides this algorithm to ensure that smart contracts are programmed correctly with software that achieves a particular class of validators to offer and validate outbound data. Band Protocol is typically named the 'decentralised oracle' system. In the beginning, BAND ran as an Ethereum dApp but eventually, the tech team behind BAND built the source code using Cosmos technology. The Band protocol is a bridge between blockchains and traditional Internet data source codes.
