QNT is the native token of the Quant Network. Quant is a cross-chain blockchain Operating System (OS) called Overledger. Quant does not have its own native blockchain and instead allows for the creation of mApps (multi-chain applications) using the Overledger OS. mApps are made up of treaty contracts which allow smart contracts from different blockchains to interact in an automated manner. Thus overledger OS allows for the creation of applications using multiple blockchains instead of just a single blockchain. This allows applications to inherit the qualities of one or more blockchains. Quant utilises a marketplace that enables users to share data, resources and apps known as the Overledger marketplace. QNT is an ERC-20 token used to pay licensing fees to the Quant network for use of the Quant OS and for paying for services and applications on the Overledger marketplace. Quant Network’s Treasury smart contracts settle all transactions on the network and take a small cut of all product payments made on the network.
